Birdy...

I have a red Angry Bird that lives on my desk at work. The other day Tim came over to have lunch and decided to dress the Bird up like me. So here he is complete with my swipe card, glasses, scarf and not to mention the paper hat I keep around just in case I need such a thing. :)

New Year's in Kiwiland....

En route to watch the fireworks over the harbor we stopped off at the Hashigo Zake bar. Even after almost a year in NZ we're still taking in new places these days. :) The Nick Granville Trio (guitar, piano and a revolving drummer) was playing for the New Year and I have to say they were pretty good. You can't go wrong with Beatles instrumentals in the mix. :) After taking in the music over a brew we headed down to the waterfront where lots of people were already waiting. We found a place amongst the crowd on one of the docks. Windy as always. :)

We counted down to the New Year but in the end there were no fireworks because of the wind. So we walked home a little bummed. Then we stayed up to watch the festivities in Sydney at 2am. Um, what can I say? We need to go there for next New Year's - they know how to put on a show. :)
